The Mama Bear Effect Partners with Bloom Safe to Make America The Safest Place To Be A Kid.
At The Mama Bear Effect, we know that child sexual abuse is not inevitable, it is preventable. Through decades of grassroots advocacy, education, and community engagement, we’ve helped families and communities break the culture of silence and shame that enables abuse through our Rock the Talk® educational programs and materials to ensure that we as a society and a nation are breaking the silence and building a culture where every child is protected, respected, and empowered. And so, we are proud to partner in launching a new initiative to stand with Bloom Safe: Make America The Safest Place to Be a Kid, a bold national movement to end child sexual abuse in this generation, and join in actively promoting its evidence-based framework and federal policy strategy.
Sign The Petition Download The Bloom Safe ActThe Bloom Safe: Make America The Safest Place to be a Kid Act is a comprehensive, evidence-driven proposal grounded in peer-reviewed research and designed to transform how our nation protects children. Its mission aligns with everything we’ve championed here at the Mama Bear Effect: empowering children, equipping adults, and shifting culture to prioritize safety, dignity, and healing for every child.
The Five Pillars of CSA Prevention
The Bloom Safe Movement is built upon five core pillars that together create a unified, nationwide strategy to prevent child sexual abuse. These five pillars reflect the holistic approach that the Mama Bear Effect has always stood for:
Age-Appropriate PreK–12 Education
Implementing evidence-based curricula that teach children about body safety, body autonomy, consent, healthy boundaries, medically accurate human anatomy and physiology, and safe online behavior in order to empower children to understand their rights and their bodies, and recognize harm and find help if they need it.
Adult Training & Certification
Ensuring that every adult who works with or cares for children (from teachers and coaches to caregivers and healthcare professionals) receives certified, trauma-informed training to recognize risk, respond appropriately, and protect with confidence.
National Public Awareness Campaigns
Breaking the silence and stigma around CSA by building sustained, multimedia public outreach that informs families, communities, and professionals about how abuse occurs and how to prevent it.
Trauma-Informed Survivor Services
Expanding and strengthening services that support healing, including Child Advocacy Centers and culturally responsive care across all communities, including those historically underserved, and so ensuring that every child has access to effective medical, legal, and mental health support within an hour of where they live, learn, and play.
Research & Accountability Hub
Establishing a federal inter-agency BLOOM SAFE TASKFORCE to track progress, guide policy with data, and innovate prevention strategies to ensure accountability and continuous improvement over time through investment in peer reviewed, evidence based scientific research and an annual comprehensive report to congress on the state of CSA prevention in our country and around the world.
Evidence Based Prevention Works
These pillars reflect a whole-of-society approach, one that mirrors the values at the heart of The Mama Bear Effect’s mission to change culture and protect children by breaking the silence and building a culture where every child is protected, respected, and empowered.
Take Action: Support Federal Law to Protect Every Child
So, this is where the rubber hits the road. To truly end sexual violence against children in this generation, we must make CSA prevention a national priority. That’s why The Mama Bear Effect is calling on our community of supporters and collaborators to endorse, fund, and raise awareness for the BLOOM SAFE: Make America The Safest Place to Be a Kid Act (https://www.bloomsafe.org) because it is the federal legislation that will codify these five pillars into law, creating a nationwide prevention infrastructure, and ensuring sustained funding and accountability for CSA prevention here in the United States.
