How Do We Prevent Abuse?

Raise Awareness

Understanding the issues is key, many are not informed how to reduce the risk of abuse and how to create safe spaces for children to disclose.

Talk About It

Sexual abuse is often shrouded in secrecy and shame. Children need regular reminders with adults taking responsibility for their safety.

Prioritize Safety

All safe adults need to model safe behaviors and take steps to reduce opportunities for abuse to occur, at home, online, and in youth programs.

Build Courage

To keep kids safe, we must challenge the silence and willful blindness that enables abuse and puts children and those affected at a disadvantage.
